Cyrus Vaziri agrees to membership on Cancer Etiology Study Section at NIH


 

Cyrus Vaziri, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Genetics and Genomics, Assistant Professor, Cancer Research Center, has accepted an invitation from the National Institutes of Health to serve as a member of the Cancer Etiology Study Section, Center for Scientific Review for a term lasting until 2007. Dr. Vaziri was selected based on the merits of his research accomplishments, publications in journals, and other scientific activities, achievements and honors.

Membership on a study section represents a major commitment of professional time and energy as well as a unique opportunity to contribute to the national biomedical research effort. Study sections review grant applications submitted to NIH, make recommendations on these applications to the appropriate advisory board or council, and survey the status of research in their fields of science.
